We had a duplex in St. Paul, MN, when first married, then moved to Mendota Heights in 1980.

I joined the 3M company in 1959 after serving two years of active duty with the U.S. Navy. Most of my 38 years at the 3M company were spent in the Magnetic Media Marketing Communications Department. I bought printing for two divisions and worked closely with some 10 - 12 printers in the Twin Cities area.

Karen and I enjoyed our golf and tennis and did some cross-country skiing in the winters. We vacationed in Florida, Alabama, Seattle, WA and Vancouver, BC for the most part. The above photo was taken in September of 2003 at the top of Whistler Mountain, BC (Place for the 2010 Winter Olympics).

In December, 2003 my Karen was diagnosed with lung cancer. Karen responded well to her chemo treatments in early 2004 together with two cyber-knife radiation treatments in July, 2004. Things looked good in January, 2005 and we spent February/March in Florida. We were able to golf that summer and spent a week at Door County, Wi in September. Karen's pain was a real issue in 2006 which made for a very difficult year. She lost her battle with cancer on December 17, 2006.

I hope to find my way back to the golf course this summer and see you all in September.
